This special house is designed by award winning Scottish architects Dualchas (Gaelic for heritage) whose aim is to reconnect modern housing with the traditional housing form of the Highlands – the ‘blackhouse.’ The ethos is ‘restrained’ design - complement rather than compete with the breathtaking Highland landscapes, while providing a modern and spacious home.

The design shields the house from the elements while the glazed frontage both uniquely captures the stunning views and maximises passive solar gain. On summer days the front velux windows fully recline, so you can kick back on the oak deck or in the evening marvel at the stars.

In the open plan living and dining area, the high ceilings give an uncanny spaciousness, perfect for relaxing by the stove fire or lingering over leisurely meals.

For budding chef’s the Smeg range cooker is a delight for cooking up the best of the fresh local produce inside the well stocked Galley style kitchen. The dining table can extend to comfortably seat up to six people. At either end of the main living area are two comfortable double bedrooms, one with ensuite bathroom, while a further double bedroom is upstairs. There is a washing machine in the hall cupboard and ample space to hang jackets. The house includes a television with Sky satellite channels and a DVD player.

In the front of the house is a grass lawn handy for children contained within a fenced off garden, all just a stones throw from the shore.

The house comes with a supply of firewood. Sheets, duvets and towels are all included, as are electricity charges. There is a phone which you may use for local calls.
